The legend of Honi and the Carob tree

I have many Carob trees in my garden as well as Olive and some Almond trees. The pods are now very green but by August they will be deep brown and start to fall down. This is the time when people start collecting them to sell or use in food and/or cosmetics. My dogs and farm animals eat them too.This short story is about the importance of the circle of life which includes planting trees for the next generation.

It is windy today and the pale pink and white flowers from the almond blossom are dancing in the air.

January is the time of the almond blossom in the Algarve. There is a lovely legend that surrounds it. Like Gilda, I too sometimes miss the snow but what a difference the almond blossom makes.
