The Hare with the Amber eyes by Edmund de Waal

A journey (through art) into the life of a well-to-do, influential Jewish family (between 1871 and 2009) and a hidden inheritence. Written by Ceramic Artist/Art Historian and family member Edmund de Waal. Very well written, interesting and unusual book. Revised and illustrated edition ISBN: 978-0-374-16828-5. The author takes us on a personal journey into his family across many borders and over many years, following a rather unusual inheritence - 264 Netsuke. A big collection of very small Japanese objects.
